Persons really do very little for your business. They place holds on checks for no reason. Leaving the bank with a handwritten note stating you made a deposit because the "system is slow" is unacceptable.
They offer no help with unauthorized purchases to your debit card without chasing a paper trail, other than locking your account if a purchase trips their fraud software. The trouble is those purchases are too often valid. So if the purchase is an issue for them they're all over it. If it's a problem for you then you're out of luck.
Competitors will do a better job of taking care of you on all accounts. Interest rates for savings are worthless. Rates for loans are not competitive. They limit ATM fee waivers.
They are usually very nice about it all while they do little for the loan of your money, but the fact is their service is poor to bad for value.
